Who We Are

We were founded in 2017 to respond to the problem of poverty, homelessness, and a lack of quality education in Kigoma, Tanzania. After finishing his studies, founder Emerson Rutendeli felt he could not ignore the problems that plagued his hometown, so he returned to try to solve them. He found the families that were most in need and children who did not have homes and took them in. What began as a small project from the heart has grown into a respected organization within the community.

At the Yes We Can Organization, we believe that education is the key to success and is the best way to help kids create a bright future for themselves. Through education, they can get the skills they need to be successful in life and, in turn, help their community.
