ORPHANAGE
Our orphanage houses 12 children who were previously living on the streets or in dire situations where their families could not care for them. At the home, we provide them with a place to live and all their basic necessities. The children here are treated as a family and receive emotional support, receive extra help with their school work, and are taken on special outings. These children are now free to focus on their education and dream of their future.
KINDERGARTEN
Our kindergarten takes in children from the community and offers a no-cost education to prepare them for primary school. We believe this early education is key to success in their studies. In Tanzania, early education is only available to those who can pay to attend a private school. We want to create equal opportunities and give all children a chance at receiving a quality education.
ADOLESCENT GIRLS EMPOWERING
We have started an empowerment program for women whose program aims to provide professional tailoring training to adolescent girls and young women in vulnerable situations.
Training in business, the provision of market-oriented skills and access to employment, as well as how to change their attitude of submission towards life (often associated with sexual violence), separation and recognition of domestic and care work. Important for young people and young people in vulnerable situations to move forward, strengthen their lives and their economic independence.
COMPUTER PROGRAM
We prepare them for using the numerous forms of technology that are present throughout today’s society.
FUTURE PLANS
Expanded residential facilities
The needs of the community far surpass what we are able to provide, therefore we are planning to expand to serve in a greater capacity. As this is a large project, it will be carried out in phases. Our first priority is to purchase land so that we can build larger facilities for both the orphanage and the kindergarten. Later, we will require funds to hire local labor and to finish and furnish the facilities. A larger residential facility would allow us to take in siblings of some of our current kids and help others who are on the street or in bad situations.
Expanded and updated school
We also plan to expand and modernize the kindergarten. Our current classroom is very small and resources are very limited. With larger facilities, we would be able to add more grade levels and modernize our teaching materials. We also have plans to add a vocational training center for young adults to attend and gain valuable skills that they can use to support themselves and their families.
DISABILITIES
Promote community awareness on disability inclusion, increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate, smile, share, study, dance, playing the achievements and contributions of people with disability.
